CODE OF CONDUCT
FOR ACTIVITY PARTICIPATION

Code of Conduct for Participating on a Team

Education-based extra-curricular activities should demonstrate high standards of ethics and sportsmanship and promote the development of good character and other important life skills. The highest potential of sports is achieved when participants are committed to pursuing victory with honor according to seven core principles: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, teamwork, and good citizenship. This code applies to all high school students/athletes involved in interscholastic sports, clubs, or performing arts.

I understand that to participate in co-curricular activities I must:

TRUSTWORTHINESS
Be worthy of trust in all I say and do.
RESPECT
Treat all people with respect at all times.
RESPONSIBILITY
Understand the importance of education, being a student first.
FAIRNESS
Live up to the high standards of play.
CARING
Demonstrate concern for others.
TEAMWORK
Promote the well-being of my teammates and peers, and be willing to report unhealthy or dangerous conduct.
CITIZENSHIP
Pledge to play by the rules and observe the spirit of fair play.
NO ALCOHOL/DRUGS
Not drink alcohol or use other drugs, not ride with someone who has been drinking alcohol, and call an adult for a safe ride home if I find myself in a situation where I feel unsafe or uncomfortable.
NO TEXTING
Never text or talk on the phone while driving, be a good passenger and speak out if the driver is distracted, and encourage my friends and family to drive distraction-free.
BUCKLE UP
Wear my seat belt every trip, every time.
SLOW DOWN
Not speeding or driving aggressively.

I understand that if I fail to adhere to the above requirements, there will be consequences that may include suspension and/or expulsion from the team or activity.
